[edit] Story:
Through SPA funds, Eric R Jacobs has assisted Vinnitsia Entrepreneurial Club, a non-government organization (NGO) in its goals of long term sustainability, strategic restructuring and diversified funding.
With the assistance from the SPA program the VEC has developed a more professional environment in which to work as well as host community leaders, NGOs and active citizens. In addition the Center has created a small for profit English training component that allows for some new financial resources to flow into the center. This will assist in the goal of lessening the need and influence of grant contributions and lending agencies as well as ensuring financial sustainability.
The VEC will be changing its name to the Center for Public Leadership to better reflect is position in the community and its goals of government transparency, women empowerment in the political process, business education and community development. This name change also reflects the new strategic plan for the organization and its efforts to address issues within the city of Vinnitsia, the oblast and in time participate in nationwide issues.
In recent months the center has successfully developed and begun projects throughout the city and oblast and continues to work with the city administration and other NGOs to achieve various community development goals.
