Story:
"Path to Life" Social and Medical Rehabilitation Center is a registered NGO whose mission is to help children and youth with physical and/or mental disabilities develop and realize their abilities, maximizing their integration into society. One of the problems identified is the difficulty of finding employment for physically or mentally challenged youth, ages 16-30, who have finished their formal education. P Jay Werner wrote and received a SPA grant to open a shelter workshop to create a sewing workshop for the mentally and physically challenged youth of Uzhgorod. The first project is the manufacture of fabric shopping bags. The initial bags are decorated with a scene from Uzhgorod. Thus the bags are both environmentally friendly and also serve as great tourist souvenirs of Uzhgorod.
