My work with Trees has been for the most part very positive. The key to working with TFTF is to show them you are serious about agro-forestry and tree planting. Once we proved we could mobilize our community and get trees planted TftF began to help us. To start they gave us seeds and a watering can with that we where able to nurse over 7000 trees and transplant them. Now they have given us money to expand our project to three new communities. They also have come to give a workshop on agro-forestry and sustainable farming practices in my village. Trees for the Future are very interested in education of villagers in agro-forestry so getting them Agro-forestry certified is another way of getting their attention. In the back of the Trees for the Future book there is a test for locals to complete and once they do and send it to TftF they will receive a certificate in agro-forestry. It is not easy to get someone to sit down and finish the test but I promise both they and TftF will appreciate it. Getting this certificate also makes them eligible to apply for grants from TftF. Trees for the Future can be an excellent partner in implementing projects especially for Environment volunteers the key is getting them to notice you.
