Norrie Robbins, 1964-1966, Kondoa.
"She served as a staff geologist for the Geological Survey of Tanzania (GST). Her job was to study chemical analyses that had been run on soil samples by Williamson's Diamonds Ltd. After analyzing the data, she plotted locations on maps around the town of Kondoa for further study. GST was pleased with her work and sent her into the field to collect her own samples. As field chief of an 8-or-so person crew, she became the first female field geologist in Tanzania. This map, from one of her GST publications, shows her sampling localities (in red)."
