You are welcome to edit this page (as you are any other page) to give suggestions on how to improve the over-all site of Peace Corps Wiki. Find something that can be improved, whether content, grammar or formatting, and make it better.

Likewise, you are also encouraged to be bold and try to incorporate some of the suggestions yourself. You can't break Peace Corps Wiki. Anything can be fixed or improved later.

Suggestions

• As the original pages and outline were copied directly from the official Peace Corps website, there may occassional words like 'we', 'our' and other personal pronouns used throughout their site in referring to the Peace Corps agency or other departments. These should be changed to their correct proper nouns (e.g. 'Peace Corps') where appropriate.
• Create a page for 'Staging'. What you go through at Staging; what cities; what countries of service goes to which cities.
• Create a page listing approximate departure dates, in calendar order, of different countries. Likewise, for each country list when each group may arrive.
• Subdivide each Country pages into smaller pages ('Packing List for Fiji', 'Training in The Gambia', 'Frequently Asked Questions about Mongolia') As is, each Country page too long.

  • Download country flags for the template from wikipedia.
• Create pages for sector-dependent list of items to pack ('Packing for Education Volunteers in The Gambia', 'Packing for Water and Sanitation Volunteers in Honduras').
• Make pages for country-independent items ('General Pre-Departure Checklist').
• Add a Resources page for current volunteers to research grant resources, material aid and other resources.
• Check with the inspector general reports instead of just pulling everything from Peace Corps' PR pages (and provide links to them). Health and safety are critical issues in some countries.
• Describe 'everyday' events that volunteers may have to do which may seem unusual at first to the invitee (e.g, taking a bucketbath).
• For countries that Peace Corps is no longer active, give history of Peace Corps in that country and reason(s) why no longer active.
• List of Volunteers who served in Botswana, and other countries.
