Info about the Sesivi Secondary School Classroom and Library Construction

The Sesivi community is searching for support to construct two additional classrooms and a library for its secondary school. The current secondary school is placing 110 students every year from grades 7-10 into two classrooms. However, the rising number of students and necessary classroom supplies and materials has made the school's two classrooms inadequate, forcing them to borrow two classrooms in a nearby primary school. This arrangement has become a burden on the two schools because of distance and the growing student body. Assistance is necessary for blocks, cement, wood, roofing, and nails, while the community will provide sand, stone, and all manual labor. Less that 30% of Vanuatu's secondary school-age population attend school due to teacher, money, and resource shortages. The new classrooms and library will alleviate the facility needs of the secondary school and allow the primary school to reclaim its classrooms, providing an adequate learning environment for all.
