Scott Phair is a graduate of Waterville (Maine) Senior High School, the University of Maine at Farmington and the University of Maine at Orono. After the Peace Corps experience he returned to Maine to teach special education until 1984. He became a high school principal at that time and continues in that role today. In addition, he has been a professional white water raft guide for 25 years and recently completed trips through the Grand Canyon of the Colorado river (his 5th) and the Tatshensheni river in Alaska.
