About Robert N. Mowbray Today
Mowbray did dissertation research in the Oriente (the ecology of shifting agriculture - 1968-70). He married Sonia Baquerizo of Ibarra in June of 1969. He served on Peace Corps Paraguay staff from 1972 to 1978. He held many positions with USAID in Costa Rica, Jamaica, Washington, and Ecuador (from 1978 to 1993), finishing as Senior Forest Ecologist/Natural Resource Management Specialist. He retired from government in December of 1993 and has been working as a consultant since then with assignments in Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Lebanon and Washington D.C.
