I am now a tenured full professor of Comparative Literature and also of Spanish at the University of Maryland, College Park. I continue my research in Ecuador: a video on eco-tourism, 2 books on Ecuador, work on a fourth book as a Guggenheim Foundation fellow dealing with Quechua-Spanish confession manuals in the colonial Andes. I teach Quechua language and culture, methodologies of comparative studies, the Andean novel, Andean anthropology.
