Info about the Quebrada Tula Rural Health Services Improvement

Quebrada Tula is in the province of Bocas del Toro, Panama. It is accessible by a seven-hour trip in a dugout canoe with an outboard motor. Several nomadic Ngabe families founded Quebrada Tula. Community members are subsistence farmers with both men and women working the land. The community is very active, with several organizations and community based projects. A health clinic in the community was established by the Panamanian Ministry of Health. The clinic is small has doesn't provide any room for patience to stay overnight or for multiple days. There is also a problem with transporting emergency cases to the nearest hospital. The people of Quebrada Tula are asking for assistance to build a patient care center, repair the health posts emergency boat and purchase an outboard motor, and construct a secure boathouse for the emergency boat. The community is contributing almost 50% of the total project cost but need assistance in purchasing the outboard motor and supplies for the patient center and boathouse.
