[edit] About Peter Hudy today

Peter married Maria Estela Velasco Xocop[[1]] on June 25th, 1992 in San Juan Comalapa, Department of Chimaltenango, Guatemala. The wedding service was a civil ceramoy attended by members of both their families, many Peace Corps volunteers from around Guatmala, and many residents of Comalapa. Both Peter and Estela moved to East Lansing, Michigan where he began graduate studies in the interdisciplinary area of Plant Breeding and Genetics from which he received his masters degree (finally) in May 1998. To them were born Oseas Benjamin Hudy-Velasco (1995). Isai Jonatan Hudy-Velasco (1998) and Macabeo Timoteo Hudy-Velasco (2004). In 2000, the Hudy family accepted a position with the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church to work as missionaries at the Rio Colorado Agricultural School, located outside of Yucumo (San Borja), Department of Beni, Bolivia. Peter was assigned as the headmaster and General Director of the facility and Estela worked in community development. They served in Bolivia from 2001 through the end of 2007. In April 2009, Peter accepted a position with Michigan State University as a research assistant working at the Kellogg Biological Statiion. He collaborates with two projects there, the Great Lakes BioEnergy Research Center (GLBRC) and the Long-term Ecological Research program project site investigating ecological changes to land under different agricultural cropping systems. hudypete@yahoo.com
