Michele was born and raised outside west Philadelphia in Drexel Hill, PA. She graduated from The Catholic University of American with a B.A. in History and a minor in Spanish for Foreign Service. She was Senior Editor for the Secretariat at the Smithsonian Institution before joining the Peace Corps in 2004.
Michele is currently the Instructional Technology Coordinator for the Education & Employment Program of Arlington Public Schools in Virginia, which provides ESL instruction to adults. Her primary duties include teacher training and resource development for technology integration. Michele is also the webmaster for the program's instructional website [www.REEPworld.org].
She is fluent in Spanish and conversant in Mandarin.
