Info about the Kindergarten/Nursery School

A community in Eastern Ghana has exhibited a strong desire to improve the educational facilities that they offer their children and those from surrounding communities. For several years, the Kindergarten (KG)/Nursery school has operated from meager facilities of mud and sheet metal. The community leaders, however, feel that with improved facilities they could not only retain more of their own children in school, but attract many children from surrounding communities who do not have access to such infrastructure. Quality tuition will also be provided.

The planned school project will be of concrete and blocks with three classrooms for the students and staff. There would be three open classrooms and closable storeroom and office for the storage of supplies. It is planned that the roof will be guttered to allow for catchments of rainwater in a large plastic tank that is currently on site, but the tank is not being utilized at the present time.

The community is very excited about the project and has already agreed to provide labor, sand, gravels and transport all materials related to the project to site.
