After Peace Corps I worked in the shrimp farming industry in Ecuador for 3 more years. Returned to the States with my wife, Lourdes, and son, Benjamin. After a short-lived tilapia farm job I went to graduate school, specializing in aquatic diseases. Received a Masters from Auburn University and a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona. Worked in aquatic diseases from 1990 until 2009 in academia, private sector and state government. Currently am employed as a foreign service officer in agriculture with USAID. Life is still good and always getting better.
