Barra de Parismina is a small town accesible only by water. It took 2 buses and a boat to arrive at my site! The community is very rural and isolated, and had a strong Carribean influence. My projects included the formation of an adolescent girls group, English, art, and music classes, the construction of restrooms for the commuinty high school, and the coordination of an international enviromental conservation project to include the development of an income generation project for local women.
