John Uniack Davis

John Uniack Davis was a PCV in Koudougou, Burkina Faso, from 1984 through 1986, where he taught English at the Lycée Provincial. He is currently (2010) CARE International’s country director for Madagascar; he has previously served in other senior management positions for CARE in Africa. He has U.S. Government and NGO experience with a wide variety of types of programs, including democracy and governance, food security, HIV/AIDS, health, girls’ education, community radio, women’s micro-enterprise, emergency response and disaster risk reduction (DRR), among others. Dr. Davis has spent a total of over fifteen years living and working in Africa and has worked and consulted in numerous African countries for USAID and a variety of other international organizations.
