Group - our group trained in La Guacima, Costa Rica and arrived in the DR in November of '79.
My Primary Site was Sabana de la Mar
My Primary Job was as a rice production extension agent
My wife (Kay) served with me as a volunteer in Sabana. We started our service in Nisibon, Higuey, but transfered to Sabana after three months. She worked in the small animal meat production/gardening project. She was tied to the Secretary of Agriculture. She also worked to develop a women's cooperative that processed and sold minuta (a tasty local fish) into the captital.
My work was with the Agrarian Reform Institute. I worked in three rice projects. Two of them were west of Sabana across the river and the third was down the road towards Miches in a small town that I can't remember the name of!
