==Description of Service ==
George taught agriculture the Institute Practique Pour le Developpement Rurale ("IPDR") in the village of Kolo, approximately 20 miles from Niamey. Other PCV instructors at the IPDR were Bryant Weineke (animal traction) and Bil Firth (carpentry). In 1975, he was assigned to work in Kigali, Rwanda, for three months on a USAID project to expand the national grain storage infrastructure. Following Peace Corps service, he worked for USAID in Dakar, Senegal, as Assistant Regional Food for Peace Officer. In 1978, he joined a team of foreign service officers to open the first US Embassy in Bissau, Guinea Bissau.
==About George O'Shea Today ==
After leaving in Africa in 1978, George attended Columbia University where he earned an MBA in finance. He married Thea Piech in 1984, had two children (George and Brittany), and pursued a banking career in New York City for 12 years. From 1994 to 2004, he worked as a finance officer for the the NJ Economic Development Authority. He subsequently started Rosemont Growth Associates, a financial consulting practice in Rosemont, Pennsylvania.
