[edit] Appeal Response August 5th 2010
This is in response to your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) appeal. You are appealing the no record found determination response to FOIA Request Number 10-128. Specifically, you stated, "the information which I have requested is clearly releasable under FOIA and in my opinion, may not validly be protected by any of the Act's exemptions. I trust that upon reconsideration, you will reverse the decision denying me access to this material and grant my original request."
I have reviewed your original request and the FOIA Office's response. A thorough search for information was conducted and no records responsive to your request were located. You were not denied access to any records. Therefore, I have determined that the response to your request was proper, and I find no basis for disagreeing with the initial determination made by the FOIA Office.
This is the final decision of the Peace Corps on this FOIA appeal. If you disagree with this decision, you may seek judicial review in accordance with 5 U.S.c. § 552(a)(4).
Sincerely,
Earl W. Yates
Associate Director, Management

This is an appeal under the Freedom of Information Act, 5 U.S.C. § 552.
The information which I have requested is clearly releasable under FOIA and in my opinion, may not validly be protected by any of the Act’s exemptions. I trust that upon re-consideration, you will reverse the decision denying me access to this material and grant my original request.
As I have made this request in the capacity of a (scholar/news service/interested member of public/etc) and this information is of timely value, I would appreciate your expediting the consideration of my appeal in every way possible.
Thank you for your assistance.
[edit] Response July 7th 2010
This is in response to your FOIA request. Specifically, you request “I am requesting the following information: From Peace Corps Headquarters: 1.Listing of all Grants to the National Peace Corps Association from the United States Peace Corps. 2. Please include the amount granted, date, belief description, and whether the Grant was given in conjunction with another government agency or private organization.” After a thorough and diligent search of all appropriate offices within the Peace Corps, we were unable to locate any records that would be responsive to your request. Although this does not constitute a denial because no records were found or withheld, you may appeal this determination. You may appeal within 20 calendar days from your receipt of this letter. The appeal should be sent to Earl Yates, Associate Director – Management, Peace Corps, 1111 20th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20526. Both the appeal and envelope should be clearly marked "FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT APPEAL." If you have questions concerning this response, please feel free to call me direct at (202) 692-1236 or via email at [email protected] Sincerely, Denora Miller FOIA Officer
