Info about the English Resource Center

A school in a village in the south of Kyrgyzstan is located near the country’s second largest city of Osh. Osh offers many possibilities for students to move forward with their education and future opportunities through various institutions and organizations. However, students in the village often don’t get the required education or access to resources to get as far as Osh.

The school was once a very prominent school in the village, but over the years has diminished in its resources, especially in the English department. The staff, English teachers and director, has embarked on the project of setting up an English Resource Center for the school. The Center would provide a place, as well as resource materials such as books and technical equipment, for teachers and students to work on their professional development. It would provide a comfortable environment for students and teachers to study and improve their English language skills, as well as a central point to learn about what other opportunities are available to them. The Center will also provide a location for clubs and meetings as well as tutoring sessions, which the community has also expressed a need for.
