Our small group of women PCV's set up the first Public Family Planning (Birth Control) Clinics for the country under the Dept of Child & Maternal Health. When we entered the country there was no free birth control available and after a second round of volunteers, all women within the country had clinics available to them. It was a very well received program by women, men (and the church) and apparently statistically served to lower the birth rate within the country within a few years.
