I served for four years in Thailand. Two were spent teaching English at Annukulnaree Girls' School in Amphur Muang, Kalasin, and two were spent in Bangkok writing textbooks with the Secondary Education Unit of the Ministry of Education.

I have been lucky because, as a teacher, I have summers free and often travel back to Thailand. In the past few years, I have gone in the capacity as the group leader of Friends of Thailand, the alumni group for Peace Corps Thailand. We have sponsored many projects over the past seven years, and I have had the good fortune to visit sites throughout the Kingdom, some of which I was not able to visit during my four years as a volunteer.
