Info about the Captain Planet Ecological and Education Fair Panama

Captain Planet is a one-day environmental education fair for elementary school children in Panama. It is based on the popular U.S. cartoon and aims to promote environmentally friendly ideas and knowledge about the diverse world in which Panamanians live. A fun and exciting day is planned complete with snacks, costumes and environmental lessons for each element: earth, fire, water, air and heart. The fair will give Panamanian children a greater understanding of and appreciation for their environment. It will also help them make more educated and environmentally friendly decisions by incorporating an unorthodox, hands-on educational experience.

Captain Planet has an interactive, dynamic teaching style, so participating children will have fun and therefore have a desire to learn more about the environment in the future. The community contribution includes teacher coordinated activities, food and lodging for the Captain Planet team and food for the students on the day of the fair. Funds from the Partnership Program will support educational activity supplies and travel costs for the Captain Planet team.
