The Bukhara English Youth Center is organizing a Bukhara Future Leaders of Our World Camp that will take academically outstanding male and female students for a week long camp in Uzbekistan. This camp will provide an opportunity for male and female students to work together. The structure of the camp is designed with an emphasis placed upon cooperation, accountability, and equality among all people. The students will experience camp life in new surroundings while participating in activities and classes that address topics not normally emphasized in their academic curriculum. Campers will learn the importance of team-work and the value of cooperation between genders. Formal lessons will be presented along with guided activities, sports and recreational events. In this way, the campers will have an experience that is motivating, educational and fun. Both Uzbek teachers and American Peace Corps Volunteers (PCVs) will serve as camp counselors.
