Info about the Artemovsk Central City Library Computer Center

The community of Artemovsk is seeking Partnership support to add a computer resource center to the Central Library. The Artemovsk Central Library faces a number of problems, which limit its capacity to serve the region. These problems include: 1) an outdated paper cataloging system which limits both library development and patron research; 2) a lack of funding which has resulted in decreasing the number of publication subscriptions, limiting access to information, news and opportunities; and 3) virtually no free or affordable access to computers or internet in the region. In addition to computers, the resource center will include materials donated through the Artemovsk-Omaha Teacher Partnership Program, an educational collaboration with the city of Omaha, Nebraska.
