Mr. Meyerson served in the community of Jemaa Shaim, Safi Province, from December 2005 - December 2007. His activities brought in over 300 youth from across the community for a thematic English curriculum, women's empowerment lessons, health education initiatives as well as post-secondary education and career advice. He partnered up with local associations for computer and sporting initiatives and created a classroom environment that was truly conducive to learning. Furthermore, Mr. Meyerson worked with counterparts to develop the structure for a national program to aimed at sending more rural youth to university.
Lastly, in the Summer 2006 as part of a Journalism club project with fellow PCV Moshay Simpson, the two volunteers co-directed "Camp El Jadida Team Action News," a 37-minute English news broadcast at the Peace Corps/Ministry of Youth and Sport Summer Camp in El Jadida. Mr. Meyerson continued to produce the film in the months that followed and the project was posted on Google Video in the Fall 2006. It can be viewed here: [1]
